Course description |
This class is aimed at enhancing capability of Cross-cultural communication skills. When we engaging in international exchange activities, we need to understand the history, culture, society and the problems of our own countries. Participants are divided into small groups to challenge multiple tasks. Through the group works, participants would master basic academic, discussion and presentation skills and finally would reach the goal to understand people with different culture and backgrounds. |

・ Improve communication skills thorough group works ・ Improve the ability to see and understand things from multiple viewpoints and face problems with flexible thinking. ・ Train the ability to coexist with “different” people/cultures and to create sustainable future |

May 2: Exercise 2-2 Introduce and explain TUAT 5. May 9: Exercise 3-1 Explain Japanese culture 6. May 16: Exercise 3 - 2 Explain Japanese culture 7. May 23: Exercise 4-1 Explain Japanese society 8. May 30th: Exercise 4-2 Explain Japanese society 9. June 6th: Exercise 5-1 Understand of the partner countries 10. June 13th: Exercise 5-2 Understand of the partner countries 11. June 20th: Exercise 6-1 What is “Multicultural Coexistence Society”? 12. June 27th: Exercise 6-2 What is “Multicultural Coexistence Society”? 13. July 4: Summary and final presentation preparation -1 14. July 11: For final presentation preparation- 2 15. July 18: Final presentation ※ The contents and schedule may change based on consultation with participants. |
Prerequisites |
This course is basically for AIMS semester program students. Courses are conducted both in English and in Japanese. |
