Course description
Objective of this course is to develop the participants' knowledge of, and insights in agricultural development and international rural development cooperation. The first half of the course focuses on the theories of agricultural development in the context of national economic growth. The second half deals with the history, approaches and challenges of global agricultural development and development cooperation. The participants will form groups to study together a relevant topic, and present it in class at the end of the course.
Expected Learning
Participants will study the role of agriculture in economic development, varied courses of agricultural development and their conditions, and international cooperation for sustainable global agricultural development.
