Course description
A basic understanding of animal health and animal disease control is essential for effective production animal management and care systems.
Expected Learning
Understand and can practice the methods and strategies for animal health at farm level, including keeping production animals in healthy condition and establishment “Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point” system at farms.
Course schedule
1. Introduction of animal health / HACCP at farms.
2. Prevention of epidemics at earth scale / prevention of diseases.
3. Disease control and disinfection.
4. Vaccine and vaccination.
5. Control measures for infectious diseases of domestic animals.
6. Environmental hygiene: atmosphere / water / soil.
7. General animal hygiene management system. / Hygiene management of dairy cattle.
8. Management of pasture hygiene / Hygiene management of beef cattle.
9. Hygiene management of pigs and poultry.
10. Hygiene management of sheep, goats, honey bee, and other domestic animals.
11. Management of transportation / Animal welfare
12. Nutrient for Domestic animals
13. Metabolic derangements / poisoning
14. Animal waste management and environment / recycle of manure
