Course description
Course Outline: In this class students will gain confidence in speaking English. Topics will vary including those related to the students major. Students will improve English fluency and listening skills. Students will gain knowledge in related topics using English.
Expected Learning
Objectives:
・ Students should be engaged in student-to-student interaction for the majority of the lesson.
・ Students should improve their speaking and listening skills through interaction with classmates.
- Students should develop the ability to talk about themselves and express their opinions.
- Students should develop the ability to listen actively (e.g. reacting, asking questions).
- Students should develop the ability to negotiate meaning when misunderstandings occur.
・ Students should participate in discussions on both general and academic topics, based on their own experiences

Assessment/Grading
Attendance and class participation: 60%
Homework and end-of-term test: 40%
As per TUAT requirements, students who are absent six or more times cannot receive credit for the course.
