| Course description |
| This course aims to improve each student’s ability to plan and deliver effective presentations in English. Students will also continue to develop their speaking fluency and communication skills in English through discussion. |
| Expected Learning |
| Students will develop English presentation skills and speaking ability so that they can make presentations and discuss about academic issues for an extended period of time. Students will be expected to use these skills, as well as skills learned during the English Discussion course, actively in every lesson. |
| Course schedule |

Students will have the opportunity to practice specific presentation skills with classmates in each lesson. Students will learn how to structure a presentation, creating effective introductions, presentation bodies, and conclusions. Students will also learn how to present with clear speech, good eye-contact, good posture, and use of gestures as well as how to support their ideas with evidence and clear visuals. Students should have the opportunity to present on both general and academic topics. Discussion skills used in the English Discussion class will be reviewed regularly and are expected to be used actively in every lesson. Please note that the below schedule is a basic outline; the specific details may change during the semester. | There are no required textbooks for this course, but handouts will be provided in class. In order to collect and organize class handouts, students will be expected to bring their own A4 binder to every lesson. |

| Attendance: 15% (students must attend at least 2/3 of a course in order to receive a credit for the course), Participation: 15%, Presentations: 50% (Presentation 1 = 10%, Presentation 2 = 20%, Presentation 3 = 20%), Regular Lesson Performance: 20%. |
