Course description |
The course is a continuation of German GrammarⅠ. You will learn the laws of grammar, read easy sentences, translate them into Japanese and write brief responses in German. After passing the final exam you are entitled to obtain a credit. Native speakers of German are not permitted to register for this course. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: 1. look up the past forms and the past participles in a dictionary 2. recognize separable verbs in a sentence and look up them in a dictionary 3. understand 6 tenses and rewrite a sentence into one in another tense 4. understand the active voice and the passive voice 5. understand relative pronouns and relative adverbs 6. understand the subjunctive mood 7. read complex sentences in every tense with the aid of a dictionary 8. have some concrete images of German culture |

Week1: Course guidance. The past tense. Week2: The present perfect and the past perfect. Week3: The future tense and the future perfekt. Week4: Separable verbs and inseparable verbs. Week5: Reflexive verbs and impersonal verbs. Week6: Declension of adjectives. Week7: Comparison of adjectives and adverbs. Week8: The zu-infinitive and the participle. Week9: Subordinate conjunctions and complex sentences. Week10: The passive voice. Week11: Relative pronouns. Week12: Relative adverbs. Demonstrative pronouns. Week13: The subjunctive mood 1. Week14: The subjunctive mood 2. Week15: Final exam. |
