Assessment/Grading
Evaluation standards (Grade: S=90-100%, A=80-89%, B=70-79%, C=60-69%, D=59% & below) are determined from the sum (100 % possible) of the following three criteria:
1. Participation policy (up to 30 %)
Exhibit good effort at all times. The following will positively affect your final grade:
- Make voluntary efforts
- Ensure a safe environment for yourself and other students
- Demonstrate your exercises clearly and appropriately
- Accurately record information about your exercises
2. Paper report (up to 30 %)
Describe the characteristics of your physical fitness.
Objectively evaluate your physical fitness and discuss the effects of exercise.
Describe a subsequent exercise program and your future lifestyle.
3. Attendance policy (up to 40 %)
Maximum learning cannot occur when you fail to attend class. Each unexcused absence (up to three times) will result in a one-letter grade deduction from your final grade. Being chronically tardy will also negatively affect your final grade.
Message from instructor(s)
You must complete all of the physical fitness tests (pre- and post-test).
Four or more absences will result in a failing grade.
Students will be required to dress for every class in sportswear. All equipment will be provided.
Students who are disruptive, disrespectful or not putting their full effort into the class will not be allowed to attend.
Any exceptions made to the attendance/participation policy are at the sole discretion of the instructor.
