| Course description |
| This course aims to equip students with skills that aid discussions regarding science and technology in English, and encourage an understanding of different cultures through participation in the summer program at UC Davis (The United States) or the University of Brighton (England). This course comprises three sections: sessions before the study abroad program, the study abroad program, and sessions after the study abroad program. Students are required to participate in all the activities in the three sections. |

1. To gain an understanding of others’ opinions and be able to express your own opinions in English. 2. To acquire knowledge and make presentations regarding science and technology in English. 3. To gain an understanding of the culture of the country where you study, and explain it in English. 4. To recognize problems that may occur while living in a different culture and knowing how to resolve them. |
| Course schedule |

1. April?July: Before the study abroad Orientation for issues such as crisis management in foreign countries, culture shock, and intercultural communication. 2. August?September: Study abroad English program for science and technology 3. October?March: After study abroad Deliver a report outlining your experiences, and support prospective students who may participate in the program. |
| Prerequisites |

・Participants in this course are selected through an essay exam and subsequent interviews. ・Participants will need to pay their own expenses in the study abroad program. |
