Course description
The quantum theory becomes important when considering a nano-scale phenomenon.
This course will include:

1) Birth of quantum mechanics
2) Wave nature of an electron
3) Schrodinger's wave equation
4) Box type quantum wells
5) Atomic orbitals
6) Molecular orbitals
Expected Learning
Participant who mastered this course will be able to tackle chemistry by the view of quantum theory.

Week 3: The origin of a chemical bonding
Week 4: The breakdown of Newton mechanics
Week 5 and 6: Schrodinger's wave equation
Week 7: Analyses of box type quantum wells
Week 8: Atomic orbitals in an atom
Week 9: Periodic table of the elements
Week 10: Electrons in molecules
Week 11 and 12: Formation of bonding- and antibonding-orbitals
Week 13: Oscillation of chemical bond
Week 14: Advance analysis of a chemical reaction
