Organometallic chemistry and molecular catalysis are one of the modern leading fields both in inorganic and organic chemistries. In this class, the fundamental chemistry in these developing fields will be prelected.

Lecture 1: opening talk: introduction
Lecture 2: what is the organometallic compounds
Lecture 3: features of ligands
Lecture 4: synthesis of organometallic compounds
Lecture 5: basic reactions by organometallic compounds
Lecture 6: homogeneous hydrogenation
Lecture 7: hydrosilylations/borylation/carbonylation
Lecture 8: exam
Lecture 9:
Lecture 10: functionalization of alkenes
Lecture 11: allylation reactions
Lecture 12: olefin metathesis reactions
Lecture 13: cross coupling reactions
Lecture 14: catalytic C-H bond activation
Lecture 15: final exam.
Prerequisites
All students who wish to join this class are required to have credits of Organic Chemistry I, II, and III

Assessment/Grading
Two Examinations (80 points in total), attendance (10 point) and homeworks and reports (10 point). The grade points are evaluated as follows: S: >90 points, A: 90-80 points, B: 80-70 points, and C: 70-60 points.
