Course description
In this course, you will study the theory and the actual applications of attitude control for spacecraft. The following items are provided.
(1)Introduction of the components that are used for attitude control.(2)The theory of the satellite dynamics.(3)The linear control theory.
Expected Learning
It is expected to acquire the following ability through this course.
(1)Learners are able to recognize the mathematical treatments which used to the attitude control design.
(2)Learners are possible to analyze the attitude motion and/or disturbance which affect to space craft on the orbit.
(3)Learners will be able to evaluate the performance of the attitude control system.
Course schedule
1st; Introductions to the attitude control of satellites and its necessitty.
2nd; Mathematical methodology and the fundamentals of rotational motion
3rd; Satellite dynamics
4th; Satellite kinematics and attitude representations with Euler angles and quaternions
5th; Spin satellite dynamics
6th; Stability analysis of spin satellite dynamics
7th; Disturbances (solar radiation pressure, gravity gradient, and air drag)on satellites,
8th; Mechanism of actuators for satellite attitude control
9th; Sensors for attitude determination and TRIAD method
10th; Gyroscope mathematical model
11th; Sensor fusion and Kalman filter
12th; The difference between classical and modern control theory.
13th; For the simulation, the numerical integration with Runge-kutta method.
14th; Numerical analysis with Runge-Kutta method
15th; Summary and final report


Prerequisites
The students are expected to have a rudimentary knowledge of Physics, classical control theory, linear algebra
