Course description
Objective: The students are expected to obtain the experimental skills related to life science and biotechnology.
Overview: This course will be performed by each corresponding laboratory.
Expected Learning
Course schedule
Tanaka, Arakaki and Yoshino Laboratory: The student should present a recent paper closely related to their research themes and summarize the content in a report once every two weeks. The students will be evaluated by their understanding of the research background, performance presentation and capability to answer the questions scientifically.
Ohno Laboratory / Nakamura Laboratory: The students will expect to acquire basic analytical skills related to physical property assessment of synthetic materials.
Nagasawa Laboratory: The students will expect to acquire as follows: 1) Chemical synthesis of low-molecular compound involved in life phenomena. 2) Development of novel techniques to synthesize the bioactive low-molecular compounds.
Sakurai Laboratory: The students will expect to acquire the basic experimental skills of the structural analysis, bioactive evaluation and organic synthesis of biological molecules derivatives.
Yohda and Noguchi Laboratory: The students will expect to acquire the basic experimental skills and will develop the novel experimental techniques about the biological science.
Machida, Nakamura and Nakamura Laboratory: Students will expect to acquire as follows: Examination of cells under a microscope, mechanical analysis under an atom force microscope, analytical operation of the fluorescence spectrophotometer and LC/MS and cell culture of human or animal origin.
Prerequisites
The student must be the member of corresponding laboratory.
