Course description
Dr. Sugiyama
Molecular mechanisms underlying development and pattern formation in plants will be reviewed, featuring several special cases, with a predominant focus on the roles of phytohormones, auxin and cytokinin.

Dr. Kim
Chromatin dynamics based on epigenetics in plants
Expected Learning
Dr. Sugiyama
Students are expected to understand characteristics of plant development, theoretical frameworks for biological pattern formation, and roles of phytohormones in the regulation of development and pattern formation in plants.

Dr. Kim
Understanding of gene regulation and chromatin structure linked to developmental and environmental responses in plants from the viewpoint of chromatin dynamics based on “Epigenetics”.
