Students visit domestic or international fields of biological production, environmental conservation, and rural development, and have practical training to understand localities, project planning, policy making, and so on.

Expected Learning |
All the first-year students and faculties of the three fields of IEAS, International Environmental Conservation and Rehabilitation, International Biological Production and Resource Science, and International Development on Rural Areas, can participate in this practical exercise. Participants are expected to understand the diversity of fields and issues covered by IEAS, and the significance of interdisciplinary network.

Course schedule |
Every year, a two-day field trip is organized by faculty members of IEAS.
In October 2017, students visit regenerating forest, agricultural research station, fisheries cooperative association, organic farmers' group in Fukushima Prefecture. The participants studied and discussed about reconstruction ativities after severe damege by earthquake and tsunami.

Prerequisites |
All the first-year IEAS students who joined in April and October are recommended to participate in this field trip. Due to the limited number of seats in the bus, only IEAS masters' students can join this trip.

Message from instructor(s) |
All the first year student of IEAS are recommended to join the field trip in October. As an alternative to the field trip, students may have fieldwork in Japan or a foreign country under the guidance of supervisors.
