| This course will provide a broad overview of the theoretical and methodological approach in forest management studies. Participants will research a national and regional forest plan, and discuss their current situation and issues. |

Understanding of the theoretical and methodological approach to address various issues surrounding forest from the standpoint of forest management studies. Understanding of the forest planning system in Japan. |

Lecture: Forest planning system in Japan, the historical transition of forest management studies, spatiotemporal scales in forest management studies, global warming countermeasures and forest management, sustainable forest management, forestry management, etc. Presentation and discussion: Research, presentation and discussion of the regional forest plan in Japan |
