Course description
In wild populations, it becomes the problem that gene constitution peculiar to an area is destroyed by genetic disturbance by the artificial introduction. In addition, a habitat fragmented, isolation under the influence of human activities including the urbanization, and it becomes the problem that genetic diversity of the decreasing local populations.
the history of adaptation and the evolution, and genetic disturbance and the loss of the variety increase the extinction risk of populations. It becomes important that we should maintain meta population structure. The molecular biological technique is remarkable, and useful to conserve wild life from genetic level. By this lecture, I comment on the basics and the application of the technic using genetic marker. I perform the training of the DNA polymorphism detection.
Expected Learning
To inderstand importance of genetic conservation.
Course schedule
1.Introduction. I comment on the importance of adopting genetic ecological viewpoint.
2.I comment on the foundations of useful genetic markers.
3.I explain an advantage of the neutral markers.
4.I comment on an advantage and the difficult point of the neutral marker.

5.I explain a real study example using a non-neutral genetic markers.
6.A summary: I perform a summary of the lecture. I carry out a small test and check an understanding degree.
7.Training: I experiment on the simple DNA polymorphism detection using the PCR.
