Course description
Learn how to analyze the research and development capabilities of the organization, and learn the basic theory for building a strategy. Use bibliometrics theory and variety of data to analyze R & D trend, and understand the position of each organization in research and development capabilities.
Expected Learning
Learn basic approaches for analyzing the R&D capabilities
Understanding of paper and patent analysis
Building knowledge and skills to understand a characteristic of university rankings from their methodology
Learn benchmark test procedure of research institutes by using appropriate measures.
Understanding of the current structure of research evaluation system in Japan and analysis of “words” as social science

Assessment/Grading
Evaluation will be determined by the 5-point method. 5 (S): Superior. 4(A): Good. 3(B): Fair. 2(C): Poor. 1(D): Not Applicable. Evaluation will be done only to those who have handed in all of Reports and who have attendance of 70% or more, students with attendance of 70% or less will not be evaluated.
Each instructor will give an assignment, and evaluate. And the results evaluated by a comprehensive evaluation of each instructor.
