Course description
Students will learn about variety of visualization technique for invisible object, such as for remote sensing, and computed tomography by means of sound wave, electromagnetic wave, light waves, and X-ray.
Expected Learning
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to get the insight into a nature of measurement as an inverse solution of the physical system, and cope well with the variety of measurement and imaging problem in the today’s engineering world.
Course schedule
1. Visualization technique for invisible object, non-destructive examination
2. X-ray computed tomography: reconstruction theory, medical and measuring CT
3. MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging): principle of MRI, device configuration, medical diagnosis
4. Measurement and imaging through ultrasound: medical diagnosis, seismic exploration, ocean acoustics
5. Wave CT (Ultrasound CT): holography, synthetic aperture method, diffraction tomography
