1. Outline of drug development
(1) Exploratory research, (2) nonclinical development, (3) CMC (chemistry, manufacturing, and control), (4) Clinical development
2. Examples of drug development of bioactive natural compounds
(1) Antibiotics, (2) statins
3. Mechanisms underlining cardio-cerebrovascular diseases and the strategy of treatment
(1) Atherosclerosis and ischemic disease, (2) hemostatic systems, (3) current status of ischemic stroke treatment, (4) development of a novel ischemic stroke drug
