Course description |
“Relationships between the effect of forest on soil and water conservation of forest and landslides” Landslides is not only one of important geomorphic processes that form mountainous terrain but also important factor causing sediment disasters. Forest vegetation is generally recognized as a key factor influencing landslide occurrences and is linked to forest resource management such as timber production from the socioeconomic aspect. This lecture consists of three main contents as follows: 1) outline of the sediment disasters 2) relation between forest vegetation and landslide, 3) effect of long-term spatiotemporal fluctuation of forest vegetation associated with forest resource management on landslide. |
Expected Learning |
To understand the impact of long - term forest vegetation change associated with forest resource management on landslides. |
Course schedule |
1. What is the effect of forest on soil and water conservation? 2. The definition of the sediment-related disasters 3. Major factors influencing sediment-related disasters 4. Long-term trend of major factors influencing sediment-related disasters 5. Methodology of mitigation of sediment-related disasters 6. Estimation methods with the influence of forest vegetation on landslides 7. Estimation of the influence of forest vegetation on landslides during the long-term trend of forest |
