Course description
A basic understanding of animal health and animal disease control is essential for effective production animal management and care systems.
Expected Learning
Understand and can practice the methods and strategies for animal health at farm level, including keeping production animals in healthy condition and establishment “Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point” system at farms.
Course schedule
1. Outline of Animal Health / HACCP at livestock farms.
2. Prevention of animal infectious diseases.
3. Disease control and disinfection.
4. Prevention of diseases by vaccination.
5. Prevention of diseases.
6. Environmental hygiene / animal welfare.
7. Animal hygiene management.
8. Poisoning for animals.
9. Management of the livestock manure.
10. Animal health for dairy cattle.
11. Animal health for beef cattle.
12. Animal health for pig and poultry.
13. Animal health for special purpose domestic animals.
14. Animal health for companion animals, exhibition animals and wild animals.
