Subject of this Seminar: Agriculture and Rural Development In recent years, many countries of the world including China and India have achieved economic development with reduced population living in poverty. However, poverty and economic inequality still remain in the world, and most of those people live in the rural area of developing countries. To mitigate this problem, a lot of development policies and projects have been implemented in the world. The main objects of this seminar are to learn the following issues regarding agriculture and rural development. 1) Why should be economic development achieved? 2) What is poverty in rural area? 3) Why do development policies and projects fail to achieve economic development and mitigate poverty? 4) What are desirable and effective development policies and projects? |
Expected Learning |
The goals of this seminar are to understand the following issues, to have own ideas for these issues, and to express the ideas. 1) Why should be economic development achieved? 2) What is poverty in rural area? 3) Why do development policies and projects fail to achieve economic development and mitigate poverty? 4) What are desirable and effective development policies and projects? |
