Course description
What does heating, we do repeatedly every day, cause in the process ? It seems to be related to temperature, thermal capacity (specific heat), molecular motions, and chemical reactions. However, do we fully understand the basic physics and chemistry in heating processes ? In this class, every student will survey information and data on a given subject related to heating, and will give presentation to other students to express one's opinion obtained in the survey.
Expected Learning
Improvement of ability for students to obtain necessary knowledge, information and data for their own subjects via active learning. Progress of presentation skill for students will be also expected.
Course schedule
Subjects proposed
1) Why a microwave oven can heat up water and foods ?

2) How water molecules moves dependent on temperature ?

3) What is burning ?

4) What happen in power stations ?

5) What is a Seebeck effect ?

6) What is a Pertier effect ?
