Course description
Understand and master various concepts on calculus of multivariable functions.
Expected Learning
・ To be able to understand, explain, and calculate partial differential and total differentiation of a two-variable function.
・ To be able to understand, explain, and calculate extreme values of a two-variable function.
・ To be able to understand, explain, and calculate of double integrals.
・ To be able to calculate volume and curved area.
Course schedule
1. Limit and continuity of a two-variable fuction.
2. Partial and total derivatives .
3. Partial derivatives of a composite function, higher derivations.
4. Tanlor's Theorem of a two-variable fuction.
5. Extreme values of a two-variable fuction.
6. Normal vectors and tangent planes,Implicit function theorem.
7. An extreme value problem with conditions.
8. Midterm exam.
9. Double integrals
10. Change of variables
11. Improper integral of a multivariable function.
12. Calculus of volumes.
13. Curved area
14. Triple integration.
15. Final exam.
Prerequisites
It assumes contents learned by CalculusⅠ.
