Course description
The course provides introduction to veterinary surgery. The course comprise of both theoretical and practical learning of basic surgical concepts and techniques.
Expected Learning
1. To obtain basic skill of out patient clinic
2. To obtain basic techniques of surgery and anesthesia/analgesia
Course schedule
? Demonstrate knowledge in all the stages of preparations of the patient, the team and the surgical suit, to surgery.
? Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instruments and basic surgical techniques.
? Practice knot tying and various suturing techniques.
? Practice bandaging techniques.
? Demonstrate knowledge of wound management.
? Demonstrate knowledge of surgical skin procedures: primary wound closure, skin flaps and skin grafts.
? Demonstrate knowledge of surgical diseases of the skin.
? Become familiar with basic concepts of veterinary rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
