Course description
Farm animal surgery is a subject that was established along the veterinary model core curriculum. In this course, you will learn general causes of disease, pathology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention for various diseases in farm animals.
Expected Learning
Understand the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment for major diseases of industrial animals. Furthermore, you have to becomes applicable when encountering a case in clinical practice etc.
Course schedule
The lecture will be conducted by a faculty member of the Iwate University ・ Farm Animal Clinical Laboratory (Keiko Okada, Masahiro Takahashi).
Lecture on clinical signs and their condition, basic principles of diagnosis and treatment in surgical diseases of farm animals.
Prerequisites
This course is composed of knowledge of internal medicine, surgery and animal hygiene. You must understand anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology and parasitology beforehand. This subject requires knowledge of each academic field of veterinary medicine.
