Course description |
This course aims to improve each student's basic speaking fluency and ability to communicate in English, through the discussion of a variety of general and academic topics. |
Expected Learning |
The course content will provide the students with the opportunity to: - improve their listening and speaking skills by participating in a number of discussions. - express their opinions and ideas on various issues. - learn about cultural differences and other challenging issues in global communication. |
Course schedule |
Weeks 1-13 In each class, students will be required to: 1. give their opinions on social, environmental, scientific, technological, and global issues. 2. take active part in listening exercises and build on conversations. 3. learn how to read basic scientific units, mathematical symbols/operations, simple chemical symbols, and formulas in English.
