Course description
Reading is basic, meanwhile students are made to take drills in pronun.
Expected Learning
Students will read simple contexts in Chinese to review the intro-level grammars from Chinese for BeginnersⅠfrom previous semester and acquire intermediate vocabularies and grammars.
Listening skills will be another focus and improved by articles with intro-level vocabularies. Additionally, in order to deepen understanding to Chinese culture, various subjects related to course materials will also be touched upon and explained in a simple and intriguing way.

Prerequisites

Assessment/Grading
Attendance will be taken in every class. Grading will be based on final exam (70%) and attendance/homework/quizzes, etc.(30%). Students who have more than 5 absences for the class will not be eligible to take the final exam and be automatically scored a D. Sleeping, talking during the class is considered as disengaged from class activities and will be disqualified from taking the final exam as well.
