Course description |
This lecture at first go over Biology learned in high school, and all students in Department of Biotechnology and Life Science are equiped with the besic knowledge for future advance lectures concerning to biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology. The lectures are focused both in the range of molecules, cells and organisms and in that of regulatory mechanism of genes, cell division and development, reproduction, formation of animal and plant tissues and organs. |

Prokaryotes vs euaryotes and unicellular vs multicellular organisms. 2nd: Composition of organisms and cells. 3rd: Organism ingredients and enzymes. 4th: Energy and metabolism: assimilation and catabolism. 5th: Transportation from enviromental substances into cells and recginition of enviromental ques. 6th: What are genes? Fupulication, transcription and translation mechanism from genes to proteins. 7th: Regulatory mechanism of gene expression and signal transduction. 8th: Mechanism of mitotic and meiotic cell division. 9th: Genetics. Mendel’s law, linkage and chromosome mapping. 10th: Genome project and epienetics. 11th: Adaptation and evolution. 12th: Homeostasis. 13th: Uptake of nutrients and exchange of gas. 14th: Hormone and nervous system. 15th: Ecosystem and ecology. |
