Course description |
Ecology is the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings and the organisms distribution. This course is the introduction of Ecology. One aim of this course is that students understand the important keywords, fitness, adaption and evolution, and learn various animal behaivor and society, population dynamics and interaction between species. The other aim is that students understand biome and global dynamics of changing environments. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: explain evolution using the term, fitness. explain various animal behaivor and society, population dynamics and interaction between species using the term, fitness, explain biome and global dynamics of changing environments. |
Course schedule |
1st "Adaptation and evolution" Introduction of adaptation and evolution that are important on ecological studies 2nd "Optimal strategy and Frequency-dependent strategy" Introduction of two important strategies of organisms behavior 3rd "Animal behavior and society" Introduction of sex selection and animal society that bothered Darwin. 4th "Population and strategy of life history" Introduction of population that consists of individuals and of various strategies of life history 5th "Interaction between species" Introduction of various species interaction such as symbiosis, parasitism and predation 6th "Community and Biome" Introduction of various phenomena in community and biomes on the earth 7th "Global environment and ecosystem" Introdution of matter flow in the ecosystems that is important of understandings of global dynamics of changing environments |
