Course description |
Subject covered include structures of DNA and RNA, DNA replication, DNA damage and repair, translation, and regulation mechanism of gene expression of prokaryotes. The lecture also covers molecular technologies including PCR, gene cloning, and mutagenesis. |
Expected Learning |
Student should understand basic molecular biology in prokaryotes. Student will be able to explain fundamental molecular mechanisms of gene replication and expression, and related technologies to use specialized terminology. |

This lecture mainly focuses on prokaryotes and viruses. I hope the students try to understand the difference of biological systems between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The subject of prokaryotes will be provided in Molecular Biology II. |
