Course description |
Computer literacy is indispensable for the study and research in the university life. This course provides students with the basic literacy to use computer as a useful tool through a series of practices that includes some application software for preparing reports/presentations, programming language. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who complete this course will be able to: (1) Prepare a brief report/presentation using Word, Excel, PowerPoint (2) Code simple programs for data analyses and numerical calculations (3) Understand the basic procedure of atomic/molecular simulations |

1. Basic Operation(1) : Basic operation of computer, Internet, mail, network etiquette 2.Basic Operation(2) : Input method of Japanese, Operation of file/folder with filer 3. Office (1) : Preparation of report with Word 4. Office (2) : Spreadsheet calculation and graph drawing with Excel 5. Office (3) : Preparation of presentation with PowerPoint 6. Programming (1) : File/directory, operation with command prompt 7. Programming (2) : Download and Install of Java 8. Programming (3) : Java programing procedure 9. Assessment/Grading |
Basically, attendance and assignment reports are worth 60 %, final examination is worth 40 %.
