Course description |
This experiment aim is to master basic experimental techniques based on essential study for engineering science. We will study wide range of biotechnology techniques and form the right solution of research data. Topics include organic chemistry practice, physical chemistry practice, molecular biology practice, biochemistry practice, and instrumental analysis. |
Expected Learning |
In molecular biology - biochemistry practice, we will study basic method of microorganisms and cloning technique. In organic chemistry - physical chemistry practice, we will study various organic chemistry reactions and how to make the reactions. In addition, we will learn data processing in instrumental analysis. |

1. Introduction and risk management 2. Molecular biology - biochemistry practice A. Culture and morphological observation of microorganisms I. Measuring the number of living microorganisms on nutrient agar II. Morphological observation of microorganisms with a microscope B. Cloning for introducing the desired foreign gene I. Separation and purification of GFP gene II. Cloning for GFP gene III. Check the result of cloning for GFP gene with PCR and culture of transformant IV. Purification of cloned gene 3. Organic chemistry - physical chemistry practice I. Introduction and risk management in this practice II. Reduction reaction of aldehyde to alcohol III. Ene reaction of carbonyl compound IV.
