Course description
The aim of this course is to understand the concepts of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics and describe chemical equilibrium and phase equilibrium. The lecture will start with a brief review of the lows of thermodynamics and definitions of thermodynamic potentials.
Expected Learning
Learners who complete this course will be able to:
・understand the laws of thermodynamics and use thermodynamic potentials
・understand a theory for the thermodynamic properties of rubbers
・describe chemical thermodynamics of reactions
・describe thermal equilibrium behaviors of systems
・understand phase transition
