Course description
Optoelectronic devices play important roles as light or mage transmission and energy conversion devices among electronic devices. Optoelectronic devices such as light emitting diodes, semiconductor lasers, photodiodes, optical telecommunication devices, and solar cells are shown. The fundamental of these devices and factors for photon/electron conversion efficiency are discussed.
Expected Learning
You will be able to understand the principle and the efficiency of the light emitting diodes, semiconductor lasers, photodiodes, solar cells, based on the understanding of excitation/recombination of minority carriers in pn junctions, direct / indirect bandgap, reflection/refraction/transmission/absorption of light.
