Course description
Insect sex pheromones, especially well deepening the moth having serious agricultural pests, apply to integrated pest management due to its characteristic selectivity and sensitivity. In this class, I will introduce “current sex pheromone of moths” viewed from bio-organic chemistry, bio-physiology, bio-chemistry, neurophysiology and genetics to understand co-evolution between female and male moth. Final goal of this class will be student make a logical presentation using learning result about sex pheromone.
Expected Learning
Auditor will be able to
(1) understand of current situation about application of sex pheromone communication system into Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
(2) comprehend the mechanism of sex pheromone both production by female and reception by male at molecular level, respectively.
(3) present own idea with original word about given proposition of sex pheromone communication system in final class.
