Course description
This course describes the principles of the gene function analysis (expression suppression and overexpression) using gene recombination, and discusses their application in plant self-defense research, as an example the plant self-protection studies.
Expected Learning
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
(1) understand the principle of gene function analysis method of plants.
(2) learn best practices for responding to unexpected situations in the research site.
Course schedule
1) For transformation of plants.

2) Measures to gene silencing and efficient process for expressing
foreign genes in plants.
(Problem, Solution, self defense also involved for some reason)

3) Analysis of pest stress signaling mechanism of plants, and attempt
towards an application.

4) Mechanism analysis of hypersensitive cell death
(Cell death is going to be executed how?)

Intensive course of two days (three or four teaching units [from 3rd to 5th or 6th] of each day).
