Course description |
Adaptability to the real problem of the mathematical model for unstable heat transfer phenomena will be discussed solving the heat conduction equation by the difference method in Excel-VBA platform. |
Expected Learning |
1. Understand mathematical model for heat transfer phenomena and the heat conduction equation. 2. Set initial condition and boundary condition of the real phenomena to the model. 3. Solve the heat conduction equation with initial and boundary conditions. |
Course schedule |
1. Derive the heat conduction equation from the Fourier’s law. 2. Solve the partial differential equation by the difference method. 3. Make a program for the difference method to solve the partial differential equation (1). 4. Make a program for the difference method to solve the partial differential equation (2). 5. Make a program for the difference method to solve the partial differential equation (3). 6. Analyze errors of the solution between by the difference method and by the analytical method. |
