Course description |
This course provides the basic concept of IP (Intellectual Property) Strategy and the key to IP Solution for IT (Information Technology) Industries through a variety of case studies. In IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) era, IP issues in IT industries will increase dramatically. And it is expected early solution. This course covers not only conventional IP Right (e.g. Patent, Design, and Trademark) but also board IP ( including Copyright, Trade Secret, and Contract) and studies the way of solving upcoming IP issues in IoT and AI era with Instructor and class students. |

Business management and Intellectual Property (1) - Competition Strategy and Innovation 9. Business management and Intellectual Property (2) - Class discussion ( Smart Phone Case) 10. Business management and Intellectual Property (3) - IP Organization and IP management 11. Business management and Intellectual Property (4) - IP Issues and OSS 12. Business management and Intellectual Property (5) - IP management of Global IT Industries 13. IP Strategy of Japanese IT Industries ? Hitachi’s IP Strategy 14. Class discussion - Comparison of IP Strategies in Global IT Industries 15. Wrap-up The contents and case studies can be changed depending on the course progress. |

I have many experiences regarding IP disputes against Global Electronics and IT companies. IP management in Electronics and IT industries is changing recently. I expect that many students learn the role of IP management through a variety of case studies, and acquire the sense of solving upcoming IP issues in IoT and AI era. |
