Course description
This lecture is mainly composed of i) understanding the "basic" of engineering, physics/chemistry related to particulate matter; ii) understanding "material function design" through "particle engineering". In addition, student will also learn, unique physical properties of the micro- and nano-particles, the related measurement method, the dispersed particle system, and practical examples of the particle design and manufacturing process as a functional material.
Expected Learning
Understand the characteristics of particulate matter and understand its functional design.
Course schedule
1. Size of material
2. Properties of particulate matter (fine particle): Properties of aggregate/agglomerate system
3. Measurement of particles
4. Formation of particles and its characteristics
5. Size reduction of material (It is also included the content of the lecture of the first half (1))
6. Design and synthesis of materials: Seeking the combination (including factors from mining-site)
7. Functionalization and evaluation method of substances
