Course description
Manufacturing based on 3D digital model becomes popular in industries ranging from familiar household products to aerospace equipment. The goal of this course is to know fundamentals of 3D digital model, to learn CAM system for usage of machine tools and to be able to apply those to manufacturing especially in machining process.
Expected Learning
(1) Acquisition of knowledge of 3D digital model
(2) Development of fundamentals of CAM system
(3) Application of 3D digital model to analysis of machining process
Course schedule
Week 1 : Advances in Machine Tool Technology
Week 2-3 : CAD, Freeform Curve & Surface
Week 4-6 : Tool Path Generation & NC Programming
Week 7-9 : Form Shaping Theory for Machine Tool
Week 10-12 : Analysis of Machining Process
Week 13-15 : Fundamentals of Machine Tool Design
Prerequisites
It is expected that students have already acquired common knowledge of “EXCEL”.
