Course description |
Topics in the class include theoretical basis of acoustics, acoustic wave propagation in the variety of mediums. Student will also learn about the basic priciples and properties of today's acousitc measurment techniques. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to gain a knowledge and ability to interpret principles, precisions and limitations of the variety of techniques in today’s acoustic measurement engineering world. |

1. Introduction, non-destructive examination 2. Linear acoustics (Solution to the wave equations) 3. Plane wave solution (sound speed, acoustic impedance) 4. Non-linear acoustics 5. Sound wave propagation in the medium (sound speed and attenuation) 6. Reflection and transmission of wave at the interface 7. Refraction and diffraction of sound wave 8. Elastic waves in the solid |
