Course description |
The various wood and wood materials produced from natural resources or forest resources that have value as raw materials, which are becoming increasingly important in terms of environmental considerations, are used in the living environment and how they are used. An overview of what is manufactured and what characteristics those materials have. It also touches on machining and adhesives that are essential for the manufacturing process. |
Expected Learning |
You can acquire scientific knowledge on the use and manufacture of wood and wood materials that are widely used in the world. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. URL: https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ |

Assessment/Grading |
Tests will be conducted at the end of the term, and the final evaluation will be based on the sum of the charge for Ando (out of 50) and the charge for Omi (out of 50). |
Message from instructor(s) |
We hope to learn about what materials are used to build wooden houses and how those materials are produced. (Ando) Adhesive processing and the use of wood materials are indispensable for expanding the use of wood. I hope that you will understand the basics of bonding and wood materials through this lecture. (Omi) |
Course keywords |
Lumber, Drying, Glulam, Plywood, Particleboard, Textile Plate |
Office hours |
Office hours for both faculty members are from 15:00 to 16:00 every Friday, but please make reservations in advance by e-mail (andok for Ando and ohmi for Omi). |
Remarks 1 |
We will distribute the attendance sheet to each person and ask them to write their questions and comments about the lectures on that day. At the beginning of the next session, we will answer important questions without giving the name of the person who asked the question, so that everyone could better understand it. |
