Course description
In this lecture, "the comfort of the person" becoming important to rebuild area or town will be lectured. As for the contents consisting of the main elements of next three namely, "the human body feeling comfort", ”example of a comfort design" , and "a method of the comfort design"."Sensitivity and the sense of the person", "pleasantness or/and unpleasantness" always has close relation to neighboring environment.
Expected Learning
Understand the clues in grasping the relationship between environment and human behavior.

Course schedule

1. With the amenity [Shimoda]
Definition of the amenity and comfort; urban amenities for human health
2. The host which feels comfort [Fukumoto]
Sense of the Homo sapiens; changes in the sensory function with aging; physiological evaluation of the comfort; exam-1.
3. The basics of amenity design [Shimoda]
The measurement of the amenity degree; the designs stimulating five senses; green amenity, etc; exam-2.
4. Practice of the design of the comfort [Group working]
Technique in "the practice of the comfort design" such as a pictogram, universal design, the barrier-free

Prerequisites
This lecture is an elective subject, and is one of the specialized subjects.
Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (30 hours).

Assessment/Grading
You must fulfill following three:
1. Two or less absences.
2. Participate in both periodic exams 1 and 2.
3. Act for assigned group work.

Evaluation standards are determined from the sum (100 % possible) of Periodic exams (1 and 2, up to 60%) and group work at practice (up to 40%).
