Course description
The purpose of this lecture is to understand the pathology of the diseased animals and learn about the nutrition management of a variety of diseases. The contents of this lecture will cover the range of national board exam of veterinary licence.
Expected Learning
The pathology of the disease that requires nutritional management can be understood. Dietary management of each condition can be explained.

2: The concept of clinical nutrition. Diseases caused by diet
3: Nutritional management of urolithiasis
4: Nutritional management of lower urinary tract disease and kidney disease
5: Nutritional management of digestive disorders, liver disease, pancreatic disease
6: Nutritional management of endocrine diseases
7: Nutritional management of allergic disease and the use of fatty acids
8: Nutritional management of Joint illness and heart disease
Prerequisites
This lecture is part of Courses of domestic/companion animal internal medicine and a compulsory subject in the Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine.
In addition to the period that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below.

Assessment/Grading
Students who attend > two-thirds of the classes and obtain a score of >60 points among the total of 100 points both in term-end exams will receive credit for this course. Students who could not fulfil the above criteria shall not be allowed to re-take the exam.
Message from instructor(s)
To understand nutritional management at the time of disease, there is a need to understand the pathology of each condition. Also, to understand the relation of nutrient metabolism and illness, I want you to grasp the nutritional management methods for each disease.
