Course description
The course is a continuation of ChineseⅠ. You will learn the laws of grammar, read and speak easy sentences, translate them into Japanese and write brief responses in Chinese. After passing the final exam you are entitled to obtain a credit.
Native speakers of Chinese are not permitted to register for this course.

This course is offered as the second part of the two-part Chinese language course of the Global Language and Cultural Studies.
Expected Learning
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
1. communicate at an elementary level
2. read complex sentences with the aid of a dictionary
3. deepen a great interest in Chinese and Chinese culture

Prerequisites
This course carries 1 credits.
Students are recommended to spend 45 minutes in preparing for each class, and another 45 minutes in completing assignments and revising the class.

Assessment/Grading
The roll will be called every week. You must not absent yourself more than 4 times.
The final grade will be assessed by the following criteria:
(i) Class participation and results of small tests ― 30%
(ii) Result of the final examination ― 70%
