Course description |
This course is an introduction to career planning for science students. Targeting especially at new science undergraduate and graduate students, it aims to help identify competencies you already have and those you have to develop to engage in scientific career. The class will be based on an active learning model in which group discussions take place. It also help you develop presentation skills. During our course of life, we make many choices. But there is a large difference between when you can only choose from given options and when you proactively prepare options and make your own life choices. This course will provide you with opportunities to reflect on your past actions and decisions, understand their characteristics, and discuss how to make your desire a reality. |

Prerequisites |
You are urged to collect information from relevant news and articles before attending the class. Please note that you will have to prepare and practice for the presentation outside class time. |

Assessment/Grading |
Grading will be based on the willingness to participate in class. - Minute reports: 70% (Submission: 50%; Content: 20%) - Presentation: 20% - Willingness to participate in class (group work, etc.): 10% (Absence of four times or more will result in failing the course.) |
