Course description |
Today, modern society faces huge crises such as global poverty, hunger, energy and climate change. Therefore, in order to achieve sustainable development across the globe, the training of innovative science and technology personnel is immediately required. Technological innovation is indispensable for problem solving, and what do you think about “technological innovation”? We ask researchers from a range of discipline involved in our university and university museum. Thereby, it is expected that the social significance of your research activities is deeply thought, research ethics are cultivated, and scientific scopes are built. |

Understand the histories of technological innovation in various research field and explain the elements necessary for technological innovation. |

Pre workshop by Sayuri Tanabashi. Lecture 1 “Vision and Optical Technology” by Professor Yasuhiro Takaki. Lecture 2 “Citizen Science” by Assistant Professor Yurika Saito. Lecture 3 “Technological Innovation from Predictions” by Masahiro Maejima, Research Director, National Museum of Nature and Science. Lecture 4 “Technological Innovation and Perspectives in Preservation and Utilization of Academic collections” by Mr. Hiroshi Horii. Lecture 5 “Innovation of Observation Technology” by Tanabashi. Lecture 6 “Technological Innovation of Silk Industry and Sericultural Science” by Associate Professor Takeshi Yokoyama.
