Course description
The quantum theory becomes important when considering a nano-scale phenomenon.
This course will include:
1) Birth of quantum mechanics,
2) Wave nature of an electron,
3) Schrodinger's wave equation,
4) Box type quantum wells,
5) Atomic orbitals,
6) Molecular orbitals.
This lecture is the basis of "Quantum Chemistry II".
Expected Learning
Students who mastered this course will be able to tackle chemistry by the view of quantum theory.

Weeks 11 and 12: Formation of bonding- and antibonding-orbitals
