Course description |
After completion of the Mechanics I, this course will address various mechanical behaviors based on Newton’s laws of motion. The topics covered are two-dimensional translational motion of a particle like orbital motions of the planets, and translational/rotational motions of a rigid body. In addition to the classical mechanics, the students will learn the basic concept underlying the analytical mechanics. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: (1) Understand the concept of angular momentum and model/describe the orbital motion of a particle. (2) Model/describe translational/rotational motions of a rigid body. (3) Understand the basic concept of the analytical mechanics. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. |
